ALUMINIUM AND MAGNESIUM EXTRUSION
Studies on decreasing the energy consumption and CO2 pollution take an important place within the research and development studies in the automotive industry. One of the ways to achieve this is to use high resistant and lightweight materials. Magnesium is lighter than aluminium by 1/3 in weight and it has a higher damping capacity. Magnesium alloys have higher values in terms of the specific resistance and specific rigidity values when compared to the other alternative materials. Complex figured components are easily produced by the extrusion production method. Due to these characteristics, Magnesium is likely to be used as a lightweight material in the automotive industry.
